**Dealing with Forgiveness**
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
Holding onto unforgiveness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. It festers within us, poisoning our hearts and minds. Forgiveness is not easy, especially when we have been deeply hurt, but it is essential for our own healing and freedom.
The verse above highlights the connections between God’s forgiveness of us and our forgiveness of others. We are called to extend the same grace and mercy that we have received.
Therefore, choose to forgive those who have wronged you, even if they don’t deserve it. Forgiveness is not condoning their actions, but releasing them from the debt they owe you. It is a process that may take time, but it is a necessary step towards healing and reconciliation.
