Just a few things to share

I was talking with my husband the other night about how much I miss writing. Between the job, grad school, the kids, and all of the household responsibilities, I guess writing had to take a back seat.

Just because I haven’t found the time to write doesn’t mean that I haven’t had things to share. In fact, just the opposite is true. We’ve been living life to the fullest out here on this farm and there have been so many precious moments stored up in my heart.

Like planting seeds and watching them grow inside the window seal to preparing the soil outside.

Like being a household of 2 then back to 6 now 7 and soon to be 8 - every week brings something new.

Like watching a puppy become a dog and making us feel more complete.

Like watching that man of mine chop wood and load the stove night after night - just to keep us warm.

Like rounding up the chickens and the ducks and gathering all their eggs.

Like sitting around the fire pit on summer nights and telling stories to happy kids.

Like looking out the window to watch them play underneath their favorite tree.

Like listening to the laughter coming from every which way.

Like lining up muck boots to have them dry out because they were lived in all day long.

Like the mood of the house around 5PM on Saturday night because s a b b a t h has come.

Like the sound of our son playing a new worship song on the guitar in the next room over.

Like when snuggle time comes and they all lean in close for the last few minutes before bed.

Like when he looks at me and holds my hand and the quiet comes.

There’s so much to say and I know there always will be, but for now - this is enough.
